The  Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) has designated Dubai as the city that will host the Universal Exhibition in 2020. The central theme of the Expo 2020 Dubai is "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future" and it will a platform to foster creativity, innovation and global collaboration. The Expo wants to trigger new thinking for a long-term effect in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) and the wider world. This is underpinned by three interwoven themes that are fundamental in addressing the most pressing issues of our time: Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability

Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first World Expo held in the MEASA region, and the first hosted by an Arab nation. With one-third of the world’s population living within a four-hour flight time, the UAE is a hub that facilitates the exchange of ideas and cultures. As a global crossroads, Dubai is ideally placed to host a World Expo, providing a unique platform for the global community to address critical issues and explore creative solutions together.
