choose it. If they do choose it, the platform en- ables them to acquire a copy in any format from the main ecommerce chains. In addition, readers can also share their finds on the social media.
Komilibro. Emotion as a key ingredient in recommending reading materials
Komilibro200 is another tool along the same lines. It is a search engine for books and a social network for readers in app format with a novel approach in which emotions are powerfully present. The application provides its users with a book recom- mendation service centred on emotions. Its technology offers a different discovery experience through emotional filters and a new gender-based system to ensure customised results. The aim is to help readers find their ideal book.

The teaching experience of Javier Calvo, one
of its founders, showed him that his male
and female students had very specific reading interests which went beyond genres and authors and which typical search engines did not satisfy owing to lack of precision and options. Calvo teamed up with his programmer friend Juan Mengual to design what eventually took the form of an app.
The Komilibro app offers users new, attractive search options in a pleasant, refreshing search
experience and can provide a reference point for searching for new reading material using parameters that are more precise than usual. It is a model with the potential to search through tens of billions of variables. It also helps read- ers – especially children – find their next book through images and keywords in their own mobile, making it a new and attractive tool for encouraging reading, especially in the school environment.

Its supply of reading materials places the emphasis on applica- tions aimed at children and teenagers, which have grown significantly in recent years and are becoming increasingly varied and attractive.
