Dry Route / Wet Circulation
The hypnosis of water is marine landscapes. And it is this absolute vision of the sea that has organised the urban form of coastal population centres and has invented the vantage point as a specific place for the deep amnesia of time. It is this impulse of the gaze towards the infinite which has shaped Mediterranean tourist resort planning as if it were a huge, sprawling coastal spa, a sedative of the profound mind and a terrace from which to dry out the damp of the soul.
In the sea we also find the world’s landscape reduced to the presence of water, air and light and it is only in this marine vision that we admire in its full extent the spectacle of evaporation, as the most extensive image of the circulation of fluids.
Scarcity of water as a result of this excessive concentration of the population around coasts has now become a new myth, as we have exhausted the object of desire through excess.
