Casa del Sol
La Casa del Sol, palacio nobiliario del siglo xvi, fue residencia del conde de Gondomar, embajador del rey Felipe III en Inglaterra
y erudito bibliófilo. El edificio fue adquirido por el Estado español en 1999, y su iglesia, restaurada en 2011, acoge en un diáfano espacio la colección nacional de reproducciones de importantes obras
de la Antigüedad grecorromana.
The Casa del Sol, a noble palace also erected in the sixteenth century, was home to the Count of Gondomar, ambassador to King Philip III in England and an expert bibliophile. The building was acquired by the Spanish state in 1999, and its church, refurbished in 2011, accommodates the national collection of reproductions of significant works from Graeco-Roman antiquity in a bright, open space.
