The exhibition project Pasa página. Una invitación a la lectura
We will end the section on good library practice with this exhibition (Turn the page. An invitation to reading),194 which was organised by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport as part of the Plan to Foster Reading 2017–2020 and was curated by the journalist and writer Jesús Marchamalo. It occupied several rooms of the Biblioteca Nacio- nal de España from 14 November 2017 to 25 February 2018.
According to its promotors, it sought to boost reading and literature through books, photo- graphs, audiovisual pieces and objects that encourage viewers to undertake an engaging, playful reflection on what it means to read and
on the pleasure of reading. The exhibition was an invitation to reading that aimed to involve visitors.
The design was based on the library as the core element of the project, a place for reading whose existence revolves around books. It was divided into ten sections and visitors could put together their own itinerary and involve themselves actively:

• The books of our life recorded testimonies from various well-known authors on their discovery of reading.
• Book people showed the stages in the creation and publication of a book through the testimonies of various professionals.
• Everything is literature presented the new ways of reading and writing, and the variety of formats and languages available to today’s readers.
• This chair is uncomfortable explored the different positions adopted by readers and invited them to sit and experience them.
• I read, do you read? presented a few aspects of the situation of reading in Spain through data and statistics on habits, reading times and readers’ tastes.
