Es una de las piezas de la colección «Food on the Table», cuyas formas reproducen órganos
de animales, como la pata o el intestino de un cerdo, el corazón de una vaca, el cerebro de una oveja
o los testículos de un toro. Su forma y su función derivan directamente del original, sin manipulaciones. A través de este proceso de inmortalizar el interior de los animales, Moerel nos enfrenta a la brutalidad y a los instintos animales que existen en todos nosotros. Al mismo tiempo, nos muestra la belleza inherente a la crudeza de la naturaleza, de la que seguimos desconectados y de la que ya solo podemos esperar volver a descubrirla.
One of the pieces from the Food on the Table collection whose shapes reproduce those of animal organs such as a pig’s foot or intestines, a cow’s heart, a sheep’s brain or a bull’s testicles. The shape and function of each object derive from their original, natural form, without further manipulation. Through this process of immortalizing the animals’ insides, Moerel confronts us with the brutality and animal instincts which exist in all of us. At the same time, she shows us the beauty inherent in the rawness of nature, which we continue to be disconnected from, and which we can only hope to rediscover.
