Arab-Euro Mediterranean Forum of New Music

Arab-Euro Mediterranean Forum of New Music

With the support of AC/E the musicians Benet Casablancas, Raquel García Tomás, Victor de la Rosa and Mateu Malondra Flaquer are travelling to Cairo as guests at the Arab Euro Mediterranean Forum for New Music. This major meeting of internationally renowned contemporary music professionals is being held for the first time in Egypt. In addition to the Spaniards, the guests include Euro-Mediterranean composers, musicians and other sound artists, as well as programmers, cultural workers and musicologists, members of a long list of organisations and institutions in the Mediterranean arc.

Drawing on these different approaches to music, the arts and cultural practice, the Forum has been established with the aim of encouraging dialogue on musical and cultural thought, stressing the role that artistic activity can play in our social-political development and the place of culture in the current times of change.
