On the Roof 2015

On the Roof 2015

On the Roof is an annual serious of concerts that take place on a roof terrace in one of Amsterdam’s industrial areas. The concerts are held every Friday for seven weeks between June and August. The music caters to a broad range of tastes, from jazz to music of the world, all of the highest standard. The location, with 115 seats on the roof terrace, is striking and allows music lovers to appreciate the artists in a more intimate atmosphere.

The second concert of the season features Spanish duo Mapi Quintana & Elías García who, with the support of AC/E, are performing their delightful programme Severina, a mixture of Asturian folklore and jazz. The second part of the concert will be performed by internationally renowned Brazilian singer Ceumar. In the third part the three musicians team up for an improvisation.

Severina, a beautiful programme of a high standard performed by Mapi Quintana & Elías García, stems from collaboration between this duo and an Asturian ethnologist and features poems and songs in the Asturian dialect.
