Cruz Ugarte has been selected as resident at Sundaymorning@ekwc (Oisterwijk, the Netherlands) for the period from September 29 to December 21, 2022. The creation residency is organized by Acción Cultural Española and is aimed at artists, designers and architects who wish to train and explore ceramic production.
Cruz has a degree in Fine Arts, specializing in painting, from the University of the Basque Country. She has worked in media, creating videos and advertising, from where she moved on to design and illustration. Her interests focus on human relationships and interactions. Her project for this residence investigates how time and space affect the plot that generates a life. Combining drawing and ceramics: she intends to transfer the idea of space-time lines to a series of related objects that develop this narrative.
Application deadline: April 22, 2021.
Those interested in participating must submit, through this Sundaymorning@ekwc webpage, an imaginative work plan that they can carry out during the twelve weeks that the residency lasts and that would not be possible without the facilities or the advice of the experts of the EKWC.
The Spanish resident selected with the support of AC/E will have round trip flights from their place of residence in Spain, accommodation, technical advice and access to the EKWC facilities. He will also have access to technical equipment according to his request and infrastructure and material costs up to 1,000 euros, according to the prices of EKWC presented to its partners. In addition, at the end of the stay, the selected resident will receive 2,500 euros from AC/E (previous corresponding invoice) to cover maintenance and production expenses incurred during the stay.
