On Tuesday, May 19, the Espacio Fundación Telefónica in Madrid will host the presentation of the new edition of the Yearbook, focused on mapping the use of AI in Spanish-language digital creation.
Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) invites cultural professionals, creators, and the general public to the launch of the 2026 AC/E Digital Culture Yearbook. This twelfth edition has established itself as the leading report for understanding how emerging technologies are transforming the way we create, manage, and consume culture.
Under the title "Mapping the Use of AI in Spanish-language Digital Creation," this year’s Focus analyzes the impact of generative AI, not only as a technical tool but as a new agent redefining cultural sovereignty and data ownership within the Spanish-speaking world.
The event will feature two round tables with prominent authors from the Yearbook, moderated by members of the advisory committee:
Power, Algorithms, and Digital "Truth": A debate on the geopolitics of AI and who truly controls the flow of information online, featuring Lucía Velasco, Henar León, and Jordi Pérez Colomé.
Narratives, Context, and New Fictions: An exploration of new ways of storytelling, from social media "stories" to transmedia hybridization, with Eugenia Tenenbaum, Domingo Sánchez-Mesa, and Juan Aparicio Belmonte.
Date: Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
Venue: Espacio Fundación Telefónica (C/ de Fuencarral, 3, Madrid).
Time: Starting at 12:00 PM.
Access: Free entry until full capacity is reached (registration form will be available soon).
The AC/E Yearbook is the result of a continuous reflection process started in 2013, aimed at supporting cultural entities and professionals in navigating digital transformation and creating experiences that meet the expectations of the 21st century.
Save the date! The full program and registration details will be published shortly.
