AC/E and Citè Internationale des Arts de Paris Writers' Residency 2016

The writers selected for the residencies are the Spanish Alejandro Morellón, who will travel to Cité des Arts Paris from June to August; and the French Raphaël Joly, to the Residencia de Estudiantes at Madrid between August and October 2016. These residencies are designed to foster exchanges between artists and culture professionals. 
 
ALEJANDRO MORELLÓN
Madrid, 1985
He grows up in Palma de Mallorca, the city where he learns to read, write and count to a hundred. In 2008 he coordinates the literary convention Mallorca Fantástica, and teaches screenwriting workshops. During 2009 and 2010, enjoys a scholarship creation in the Antonio Gala Foundation for Young Creators. He has been awarded, among others, the Prize storybook of Monteleón Foundation for his work "
La noche en que caemos" (2013), and his stories have appeared in anthologies and magazines such as Quimera, Prosa inmortal, Eñe, Energehia.  In 2015 was finalist of Nadal Prize for his work "Y he aquí un caballo blanco". In May 2016 his book of short stories "El estado natural de las cosas" was published by Caballo de Troya. He lives in Madrid.

The deadline for submitting applications finished on Wednesday 30 March 2016. 

The residency includes travel to Paris, subsistence expenses and accommodation in the Cité des Arts.

Candidates must be over 18 and be Spanish nationals or in possession of a N.I.E. (Identification Number for Foreigners) issued by the Spanish Ministry of the Interior; have published at least one book with a professional publishing house; and have a basic knowledge of the French language and culture.

Applications must include the following documentation:
 
·       Application form, properly filled in and signed by the candidate (print, sign, scan and send it).
·       Cover letter
·       Description of the project on which they are going to work during the residency (maximum 2,000 characters).
·       Biographical and literary CV indicating, among other data, biographical details, education, published works (title, genre, place of publication, publisher, date of publication, number of pages), prizes and distinctions received, as well as other grants or funding previously awarded.
·       Press dossier highlighting the most salient aspects.
·       An example of at least one of their published works (preferably the most recent).
·       Others (specify).
Proposals must be sent in pdf format to: residenciasliteratura@accioncultural.es indicating as a reference “Residencia Escritores Cité des Arts París”.

The printed example of the book should be sent to Ainhoa Sánchez Mateo at Acción Cultural Española (AC/E). Calle José Abascal 4, 4 planta. 28003 Madrid and, like the rest of the documentation, must arrive by 30 March 2016.
