Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) is collaborating in the first edition of the International Biennial of Art and City, BOG25, reaffirming its commitment to promoting Spanish culture internationally and its close relationship with the city of Bogotá.
Following the successful experience as a co-organizing entity—together with the Colombian Ministry of Culture—of Spain’s presence as the Guest of Honor Country at the 2025 Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBo), AC/E shares and values the internationalization goals pursued by this Biennial, focused on dialogue between art, city, and citizenship.
On this occasion, the Spanish presence is represented by three prominent curators participating in the International Symposium “The City, Art, and Happiness”, to be held on October 27, 28, and 29, 2025, at the Hemicycle of Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá. Through lectures, roundtables, and talks, these professionals will discuss the role of art and curatorship in contemporary urban and social transformations.
The participating curators are:
Blanca de la Torre, director of the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM), presenting “Eco-aesthetics of Affection: Bodies, Consumption, and Care in the Neoliberal City.”
Tania Pardo, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Dos de Mayo (CA2M), with the talk “No Promises, With Affection: Art, Care, and the City in Precarious Times.”
Inma Prieto, director of the Antoni Tàpies Foundation, presenting “Bodies in Resistance, Images on the Run: Poetics of Disorder in the Contemporary City.”
With this participation, AC/E strengthens its support for artistic and cultural exchange processes between Spain and Colombia, helping to reinforce bilateral ties and highlight culture’s value as a driver of reflection and collective construction in urban contexts.
