#DanceFromSpain | Programme for the Internationalization of Spanish Dance Companies AC/E & FECED
AC/E and the Spanish Federation of Dance Companies, FECED, have teamed up in this joint programme, which will be run throughout 2019 and is aimed at internationalising the dance sector by encouraging Spanish companies to take part in fairs and other international sector events.
The main purpose of FECED (awarded a gold medal by the Spanish performing arts academy in 2015) is to foster the dissemination and promotion of dance in general and the holding of activities that can help professionalise the sector, devising strategies and collaborating with the public authorities to make it possible to achieve these aims.
This programme for the internationalisation of Spanish dance is intended as a means of strengthening the presence of Spanish dance companies at international fairs and other sector events. For this purpose AC/E will bear the companies’ travel expenses – which are not covered by the international fairs that invite them to take part and which the companies cannot afford to pay themselves. This pilot project is designed as a tool for facilitating the internationalisation of Spanish dance by helping create networks through the participation of Spanish artists in the leading main professional forums worldwide and by encouraging exchanges and the sharing of knowledge.
