Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), in collaboration with Domaine de Boisbuchet, has awarded its 2025 summer residency to two prominent groups of artists: Estudio Esto and Diego Lara. The residency, which will take place in Boisbuchet, France, from June 2 to July 12, 2025, offers a fully funded stay to emerging designers or architects to develop their creative projects in an internationally recognized environment for design and architecture.
Estudio Esto: This Madrid-based creative studio, founded by Amalia Wakonigg and Guillermo Borreguero, focuses its practice on the exploration of materials and processes. Through craft and experimentation, they transform ideas into objects, designing and manufacturing pieces, installations, and stage sets where technique and formal expression coexist in a balanced way. Their work lies at the intersection of design, manual practice, and material research.
Diego Lara: Graphic designer and director of his own studio, Diego Lara specializes in editorial design, visual identity, and typography. His work encompasses personal projects, collaborations, and commissions for local and international brands and studios, with a strong connection to the fields of culture and art. He also coordinates the MadLibro publishing house for the Mad is Mad gallery and teaches sustainability and branding at the IED Madrid. At the same time, he is developing a personal artistic project inspired by nature and abstraction, exploring harmony, balance, and serenity through drawing, photography, and sculpture.
This initiative by AC/E and Domaine de Boisbuchet seeks to foster creative mobility and cultural exchange, giving these talented professionals the opportunity to work in an inspiring environment and network with other professionals in the sector. The residency at Boisbuchet is a favorable space for experimentation and the development of new ideas, contributing to the growth and international projection of Spanish artists.
