IC is an international arts meeting existing since 2006. IC are initials for “Interaction and Connectivity”, the leading concepts that are combined with principles such as artistic experimentation, displacement, risk, flexibility and criticism. IC articulates the realms of dance, music, theater, audiovisual and visual arts. IC is more then a festival, it is a platform that put artists and institutions to create contexts to collaborate. Working as a net for artist to work and circulate.
On each edition, a symbolic issue guides the curatorial process, considered here as a composition that flows together with the works which it presents. For the tenth edition, IC has brought the topic of "Duration + Intensity" as a central interest. For that, we organized an special edition with 24 hours of a non stop event. From 10pm of August 19th till 10pm of August 20th, IC10 will mobilize the city of Salvador with 24 for hours of contemporary art works that cross different art fields.
AC/E supports the performances of Cristina Blanco "El Agitador Vortex" and a workshop at IC 2016. On each edition, IC - Interaction and Connectivity brings together artworks - from Brazil and other countries -, taking shape as plays, performances, instalations, urban interventions, audiovisual and performative speeches. In its tenth edition, IC celebrates the ideas of Duration and Intensity, bringing up discussions about how long should something last in order to evoke the intensity it could.
Within that frame, the IC curatorial team invited the Spanish artist Cristina Blanco to perform her piece called 'El Agitador Vortex'. On this performance, the artist creates a movie that happens live in front of the audience. She is filming and being filmed the whole time, producing a film which is not made to last. A piece/film that lasts just the moment in which it is being done. A performance in which Duration and Intensity are put in question by configurating Performing Arts and Cinema in new ways.
Inside the program of IC10, Cristina Blanco will perform twice the show. Both performances will take place inside the Cultural Venue that the festival occupies, in the hart of the city center of Salvador - Bahia - Brazil.
