Lara Fluxà (Palma de Mallorca, 1985) and Miguel Ángel Tornero (Baeza, 1978) have been selected for the International Artistic Residencies Program Mexico City 2025, promoted by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) in collaboration with the María José Jove Foundation (FMJJ). The program offers a six-week residency (November–December 2025) at Fundación Marso in Mexico City, aiming to support artistic research, contemporary creation, and cultural exchange between Spain and Latin America.
Fluxà works with fragile materials —glass, water, light, or salt— to explore the vulnerability of ecosystems. In Mexico City she will develop the project Amphibian Causeways, focused on the city’s hydraulic memory and on water as a living and political agent.
Tornero, in turn, began his career in photography and later expanded his practice toward collage and hybrid languages that reflect the fragmentation of reality. During the residency, he will continue developing visual narratives inspired by the cultural and historical complexity of the city.
Each artist receives financial support for production and living expenses, as well as travel, insurance, accommodation, workspace at Fundación Marso, and assistance for the dissemination of their projects.
