France-Spain Writers' Residency Exchanges 2015

France-Spain Writers' Residency Exchanges 2015

For some time now Acción Cultural Española has been running a programme of residencies for creators aimed at providing them with optimal conditions – in terms of time and space – in which to work. The programme offered by the Cité des Arts has a solid track record in the area of the visual arts and AC/E has extended it to literary creation in order to foster the internationalisation and professionalisation of Spanish writers.

Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), in collaboration with the Institut Français, Paris council and the Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid, is organising two residencies for establishing collaborative networks among various institutions in order to strengthen the links between cultural institutions in France and Spain, promote mobility among writers and foster creative production.

The writers due to benefit from the programme this first year are Spaniard Blanca Riestra, who will enjoy a two-month stay in the Cité des Arts in Paris, and the French writer Guillaume Chérel, who will stay at the landmark Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid.
