In connection with the fair, LIBER organises activities focused on a number of core areas such as content, promotion, new digital media, fostering reading and internationalisation. Since 2011, the fair has also featured ‘LIBER digital’, a section reserved for digital books and aimed at encouraging the industry’s transition to the new reality of publishing. Every year a guest country is chosen, and 2013 it is Chile’s turn.
In 2012 LIBER brought together more than 400 exhibitors from eighteen countries, who offered visitors the latest novelties in the literary sector. In order to encourage the internationalisation of the sector, AC/E is taking part in the fair through its visitor programme by supporting the participation of a group of foreign publishers and cultural journalists.
