The Barba Corsini duet will be performing a 40 minute concert to present their book/record called Cassette. Barba Corsini is a project that explores voice and electronics somewhere between spoken word and ad-libbing. One of them contributes their voice and texts, while the other plays the trumpet, providing melody and electronics, without either role being entirely defined. Pope and Escoffet brazenly play off spoken poetry and dub, sound abstraction and pop, improvisation and calculated precision.
The PM Poetry and Music Festival showcases new ways of taking poetry to audiences, moving away from more conventional formats. It is held every year at the “Centro Cultural de España” in Santiago de Chile and through a strategic, collaborative alliance between poetry and music, it presents a “mise-en-scène” that confers greater sound and performing sense to “live” poetry, making reading more dynamic or using collaborative performance to revitalise literary events and making this a truly genuine festival.
