Santiago Colombo is the visual artist selected by the jury for the Irudika 2022 residency with a project to make the Irudika 2022 spot. This consists of an animated piece made in traditional frame-by-frame animation using the technique of ink, graphite and colored pencils. on paper. The jury has highlighted Santiago Colombo for his "very wide range of resources, which he handles with great ease, and which allows him to mix, in a very harmonious way, video images, stop motion, collages, drawing and traditional animation. In his pieces there is an important component of experimentation, mainly focused on the exploration of matter, whose visual result is of great interest. "
The Irudika Residences host an illustrator from international territory, and an animator from national territory, in the creation spaces Fundación BilbaoArte Fundazioa and the Maison des Auteurs within the Cité de la Bande Dessinée et de L'image d ' Angoulême to develop his own artistic project and generate the image of the Irudika International Festival in its 2022 edition. Results will be exhibited in the Exhibition Hall of Fundación Vital Fundazioa in the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz, concluding the artistic residency.
Santiago Colombo Migliorero. Born in La Plata, Argentina in 1992, he currently lives in Madrid. Freelance visual artist, filmmaker, animator, and 3D generalist at international software development company Ohzi Interactive. He has exhibited his works individually and collectively in spaces in Argentina, Latin America and Europe, highlighting: Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art, Fantoche Festival (Switzerland), Turku Film Festival (Finland), Zagreb AnimaFest (Croatia), Biennial of Young Art , Art Basel Buenos Aires, International Video Art Festival and the Moving Image Biennial in Argentina, Icona Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival (Greece), Video Babel (Peru), Guerrilla Cartography (USA) or Paadman (Iran), among others.
Acción Cultural Española (AC / E) collaborates again in this edition with the aim of supporting the creation of collaboration networks, promoting the mobility of national creators, promoting creative production and strengthening the links between Spanish and foreign cultural institutions.
