Alejandro Albán is the writer selected for this residency. He will be able to develop a literary project already started, between January 3 and February 27, 2025, at the Cité Des Arts, in Paris. The objective of the call is for the selected writer to have, during these two months, an adequate residence and work space, as well as to be able to establish networks with other creators and have access to the resources offered by both the Cité des Arts and the city of Paris itself.
Alejandro Albán (Granada, 1988) is a psychiatrist and writer. He obtained a doctorate in Clinical Medicine and Public Health from the University of Granada and completed undergraduate studies in Spanish: Language and Literature at the University of Burgos. He currently works in Madrid as a clinical researcher. He is the author of the collection of short stories “At a slow pace” (EUG, 2017) and the novel “Solo los braves” (Círculo de Tiza, 2022), and his stories and essays have appeared in the magazine Casapaís and in the anthology “ Flowers and ruin” (Dos Bigotes, 2024).
The residency program is organized by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), the French Embassy / French Institute in Spain and the Marie de Paris, with the support and participation of the Student Residence in Madrid and Cité internationale des arts of Paris for the promotion of the exchange of French and Spanish writers. This program aims to create collaboration networks, promote the mobility of national creators abroad, encourage creative production by offering residencies for creators and strengthen links between cultural institutions in France and Spain.
