Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) renews its commitment to national cinematic talent by promoting, for the fourth year, the "AC/E Award for Best Director of a Spanish Film" within the framework of the 22nd Seville European Film Festival (November 7 – 15, 2025).
This collaboration with the Institute of Culture and Arts of Seville (ICAS) aims to take a further step in directly supporting Spanish filmmakers, recognizing creative excellence within a festival that has established itself as a major tastemaker for new auteur cinema at the European level.
A Boost for Talent and International Projection
The AC/E Award for Best Director of a Spanish Film includes a prize of €10,000 and will be selected by an International Jury. Beyond the financial recognition, AC/E commits strategically to the internationalization of the winning film, promoting its screening at leading Ibero-American film festivals and in various cultural venues abroad.
This initiative deepens AC/E's historical collaboration with the Seville Festival, which, since 2014, has facilitated the participation of over 60 European film programmers and industry agents through the PICE program.
With this award, AC/E reaffirms its mission to foster national creation, ensure the visibility of Spanish talent in international contexts, and strengthen networking between our filmmakers and the global film industry.
