EThe Ministry of Culture and Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) have presented the tenth edition of 'MusaE. Music in State Museums', a program of concerts and micro-recitals curated by Juventudes Musicales de España that turns museum spaces into a meeting point between historical heritage and contemporary musical creation.

The new season, running from October 2026 to March 2027, will feature a total of 46 musical performances across the network of State Museums in various cities throughout Spain. All performances will be delivered by young soloists and ensembles under the age of 35, selected through an open public call that received over 600 proposals across 225 applications.

The concert cycle will officially kick off on October 1, 2026, with a performance by Cuarteto Bruma at the National Museum of Anthropology in Madrid.

A dialogue between heritage and musical creation

Created in 2015, MusaE aims to support the career development of emerging young musicians while bringing new audiences to state museum collections. Over its ten-year history, the initiative has consolidated its position as a unique cultural offering that allows visitors to experience museums from a fresh perspective.

The 2026/2027 season highlights a wide range of musical styles:

Classical and early music performed by award-winning musicians from national and international competitions.

Contemporary formats featuring flamenco, folk, pop, jazz fusion, and experimental projects.

Performances are structured into two main formats: concerts held in main museum spaces, and micro-recitals—short pop-up performances directly within exhibition galleries designed to interact with the collection on display.

Participating Museums Network

This edition spans state institutions across eight cities:

Cartagena: National Museum of Underwater Archaeology (ARQVA).

Mérida: National Museum of Roman Art.

Santillana del Mar: National Museum and Research Center of Altamira.

Toledo: El Greco Museum and Sephardic Museum.

Valencia: 'González Martí' National Museum of Ceramics and Decorative Arts.

Valladolid: Cervantes House Museum and National Sculpture Museum.

Madrid: Museum of the Americas, National Museum of Anthropology, National Archaeological Museum, National Museum of Decorative Arts, Cerralbo Museum, Sorolla Museum, and Costume Museum.

Training workshops for emerging talent

In addition to public performances, MusaE strengthens its role as a professional development platform through dedicated training workshops. On September 15 and 16, the Costume Museum (Museo del Traje) hosted sessions offering participants practical tools in audience communication, project presentation, and career self-management.
