Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and Domaine de Boisbuchet have announced the selected projects for the upcoming edition of their prestigious design and architecture residency program in France.
Following an open call, the selection committee has appointed the collective Fuerza Mínima (composed of Toni Llopis and Alejandro Seva) and artist-researcher Betiana Pavón as the beneficiaries of the research residency at Domaine de Boisbuchet for 2026.
The proposal by Fuerza Mínima stood out for its profound reflection on the transformation of craftsmanship. Their work at Boisbuchet will focus on exploring the intersection between traditional techniques and contemporary sensibilities, hybridizing design with disciplines such as anthropology and science.
Meanwhile, Betiana Pavón will develop a transdisciplinary research project linking digital fabrication with bio-art. Her project seeks to generate new morphological languages from living materials and organic waste, posing a critical reflection on sustainability and natural cycles in the design of the future.
The residency will take place from May 25 to July 5, 2026, in Lessac, France. Over the course of six weeks, the selected residents will live at this international center of excellence, gaining access to its architectural park, specialized workshops, and a vast network of design professionals from around the world.
This residency program, supported by AC/E, reaffirms the institution's commitment to the internationalization of Spanish creators (or those residing in Spain), providing spaces for thought and production within high-level professional contexts.
The results of the research conducted during the stay will be shared through the collaborative networks of both institutions, contributing to the visibility of national talent within the global fields of design and architecture.
