MIRfestival is an independent international festival presenting new formats of performing arts. It invites breathtaking, unexpected and innovative projects from the meeting point of stage, image, sound, performers, audiences, the city and the citizens, where new art is being born. The festival was founded in 2008, aiming to present artistic projects which cross over the borders of “theatre”, “dance” and “performance” and to foster the artistic creation based on research and experimentation.
MIRfestival 2018 will present 7 international and 5 Greek performative projects in theatrical and unexpected places in the city. The projects evolve around the theme of denouncing power in favor of poetics.
AC/E supports through the Pice grants the participation of Nyamnyam with its performative installation "Comida". "Comida" is a performative installation proposing a new way of making performances. The creators, the duo Nyamnyam, invite the audience into sharing philosophical and political texts about cooking and food, listening to stories, looking at films or short performances while dinner is being prepared. Then everybody shares food, ideas, experiences. Nyamnyam is a project initiated by an artist couple based in Barcelona, combining performances, installations, cooking, philosophy and politics. Nyamnyam is also the name of the 180-square meter loft where the duo lives and creates: a genuine meeting, reflection and experimental fusion space, where "Comida" came into being.
