Tanz im August is Berlin's quintessential contemporary dance festival. Artists present their latest works and numerous German and international premieres take place. Events take place at various locations around the city. AC/E supports the participation, through the PICE program, of the company La Veronal, with its work "Sonorama, and of the dancer Israel Galván together with the musician Niño de Elche.

The revolutionary and avant-garde 20th century filmmaker Luis Buñuel has always been a great inspiration for the Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau. “SONOMA” pays homage to the iconic surrealist with the reimagining of a dream location somewhere between dream and fiction, between the human and the extraordinary. A tempting cinematographic world is revealed in which the everyday becomes strange and signs communicate with the most irrational layers of the human mind.

Spanish bailaor Israel Galván and musician Niño de Elche, two of flamenco's biggest stars, meet again. De Elche sings, Galván dances: with “Mellizo Doble” (which translates as “Twin Double”), the two virtuosos take their energetic collaboration to a bare stage. Its complex rhythms shapeshift from dynamic highs to smooth lows, sparking the senses with new sounds and songs. Galván and de Elche put together a percussive physical concert that reinvents flamenco with passion and heart.
