Tipperary Dance Platform is a county-wide, year-round dance programme culminating with a curated international week-long TDP' festival, whose mission is to generate an identity for dance in county Tipperary and deliver an outstanding artistic programme that engages with local and inter/national audiences. It features top standards international and Irish-based dance companies, alongside with emerging dance artists, becoming one of Ireland’s leading dance festivals
AC/E supports the participation of Mariantonia Oliver to perform her piece LAS MUCHAS'. A project to be developed in two sequences of work: a developing piece with a local community of performers that will take place as part of our outreach programme during the month of August and a second sequence with a performance by the artists and the community group that will take place at TDP’18 international festival 8-14 October.
LAS MUCHAS is an existing dance work by Spanish artist Mariantonia Oliver originally created in Mallorca with a group of local elderly woman. In this second encounter in Ireland Mariantonia Oliver will involve the women fully in her artistic universe by inviting them to preform on stage. Mariantónia Oliver and the local women will enter in contact with a different aspect of the artistic project LAS MUCHAS: performing on stage and sharing the work with an audience of local, national and international participants at the TDP’18 international dance festival.
