VideoDanzaBA is a pioneer festival in the Latin American region. Since its inception, in 1995, the Festival is a platform for divulging, learning, discussing, and developing networks about the artistic work around the axis body-technology in the broadest of senses.
In its 22 years of history has offered artistic residencies, international exchange, screening of pieces and live shows. Only in its previous edition it hosted 2336 spectators and 110 participants took advantages of its educational activities.
In 2017, its 16th. edition will be developed under the motto REDenCONSTRUCCIÓN (Network in construction). En this opportunity, the festival will host the first meeting of REDIV (Ibero American Network of Videodance), as well as a dozen of participants on scholarships from all over Latin America. It will also host the launching of several books from Mexico, Argentina, France and Brazil. Multimedia shows, screenings, installations, photos, artistic residencies and the LAB VD17 (Project Development Laboratory in Videodance).
AC/E is supporting through the Mobility grants, the participation of the Spanish company Konic Thtr. They will coordinate the residency Koniclub in Buenos Aires: "Danza y tecnología se dan la mano" ((Dance and technology hand by hand) in which scholars from different regions of Argentina participate (by open call). This residence has the accent placed on the integration of interactive digital technologies to the performing arts, with interdisciplinary artists from dance, theater, music, visual and audiovisual arts, as well as technology specialists in software, designers, etc. As a corollary of this experience, a final sample for the general public is made, in which both process and results are shared. In addition, the company presents his work HYPERNATURAL in the theater room of the Cultural Center of the Memory Haroldo Conti.
