07 july 2026

The Aragonese author will develop her upcoming literary project during September and October 2026 in a unique natural setting near Wonju.

The program, co-organized by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and the Toji Cultural Foundation with the support of the Residencia de Estudiantes, promotes cultural exchange and professional networks between Spain and Korea.

Madrid, July 7, 2026.— Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and the Toji Cultural Foundation, in collaboration with the Residencia de Estudiantes, have announced the selection results for the Writers Residency in South Korea for the 2026 edition. Following the evaluation of the applications received, the selection committee has chosen journalist, editor, and writer Patricia de Blas Gasca.

Thanks to this cultural exchange program, the author will enjoy a two-month stay, running through September and October 2026, at the Toji Cultural Foundation facilities located next to the Gangwon mountains. This rural environment offers an ideal, peaceful space for research and writing. The residency fully covers round-trip transportation from Spain, accommodation, full board from Monday to Saturday, and access to the library services at the Yonsei University Wonju Campus.

A Career Linked to Journalism, Editing, and Fiction

Patricia de Blas Gasca (Calatayud, 1988) has a solid career in the fields of literature and communication. She is the author of the novels "Cara de madre" (Lunwerg, 2025) and "Sostika" (Rasmia Ediciones, 2022), a debut novel that garnered significant recognition, being named a finalist for the XXXII Torrente Ballester Prize and winning both the I La Torre de Babel Prize and the IV Aragonese Young Creators Contest.

After working for a decade at the radio network Onda Cero, de Blas currently combines her creative side with editorial work at Rasmia, a publishing house she joined as an editor three years after publishing her first book with them. Her stay in South Korea will allow her to focus entirely on developing and writing her next literary project.

With the resolution of this call, the organizing institutions reaffirm their commitment to the international projection of Spanish literature, providing our authors with unique creative environments and opportunities to build strong professional exchange networks on the global stage.
