Following its successful premiere at Sevilla’s renowned Bienal de Flamenco in 2016, "Catedral" has been awarded the Critic’s Choice for Best Performance. In this show, Patricia Guerrero conjures up a stage as a spiritually charged space for dancers Maise Márquez, Ana Agraz, Mónica Iglesias and herself. Here, the audience can expect an impressively mystical setting, almost appearing sacred, made of light and shadows, live music and dance. The quartet – accompanied by three singers and two musicians – creates a hypnotic universe in which delicate interaction between dance and music unfolds.
In "Catedral", Patricia Guerrero is dealing with the issues of the weight of religious constraints and women's liberation. Guerrero has a signature style, and in "Catedral" she has developed a show that pays tribute to the three elements of flamenco: guitar, song, and dance.
