Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and the Media Solution Center Baden-Württemberg (MSC-BW) present the five creators selected for the pioneering ReACH residency (Research and Creation for Electronic Culture and Humanities) in Stuttgart.
This initiative, held at the High-Performance Computing Center (HLRS) at the University of Stuttgart, is positioned at the intersection of supercomputing, artificial intelligence, and the arts, offering residents access to world-class research infrastructure.
Selected Residents
Santiago Colombo Migliorero Visual and audiovisual artist. He holds a Master’s in Arts (UC3M, Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid) and a Degree in Sculpture (National University of La Plata). He has developed projects and residencies in spaces such as BilbaoArte, LABoral, iMAL (Brussels), and the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basque Country. His practice explores the moving image and contemporary experimentation across various international formats.
Louise Ward Morris A sculptor specializing in new media, combining electronics, phenomenology, and science to investigate how technology defines the human condition. Her work has received support from the Spanish Ministry of Culture and the Arts Council England. She currently collaborates with the Technical University of Braunschweig and is based in Barcelona.
Marta Revuelta A media artist and researcher whose practice examines the political and ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence. Through interactive installations, she investigates the power regimes within automated decision-making. Her work has been exhibited at institutions such as Fundación Telefónica and Ars Electronica, and she has been recognized with the Barcelona Crea grant.
Santiago Morilla A multidisciplinary artist and PhD in Fine Arts (UCM), specialized in the intersection of data visualization, post-locative art, and political ecology. His research focuses on the design of interspecies communication interfaces. At the HLRS, his work centers on high-performance computing applied to eco-critical narratives in the face of environmental collapse.
Mar Santamaria Varas (Trescientosmil) Architect and urban planner, co-founder of the trescientosmil team. Her practice focuses on harnessing emerging data technologies to analyze and design the future of cities. She develops innovative statistical methodologies and visualization tools to create operational narratives that transform urban and territorial practice.
About the Residency: AI, Supercomputing, and the Arts
The residency is structured as an Advanced School within theGATE Festival. It is designed as an exploratory phase where artists test ideas and develop initial prototypes using High-Performance Computing (HPC) tools and Artificial Intelligence.
The program includes an intensive five-day workshop focused on simulation and visualization, featuring access to the CAVE immersive environment under the direction of Prof. Marcos Cuzziol, an AI expert from the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of São Paulo.

Resident Benefits
Each of the five residents receives:
Grant: €1,750 to cover travel, accommodation, and subsistence.
Specialized Training: Participation in the intensive CAVE workshop and personalized technical advisory.

Networking: Support from the MSC-BW team to present their projects to the center’s scientific and technological community.
