Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) is collaborating once again with DEV (Spanish Association of Video Game and Entertainment Software Production and Development Companies) for the official presentation of the White Paper on the Spanish Video Game Development Industry 2025.
Originally launched in 2014, this annual report has established itself as an indispensable diagnostic tool and the leading reference document both in Spain and internationally for data regarding turnover, employment, financing, size, and composition of the video game industry. It serves as a key strategic tool not only for companies, professionals, and investors within the sector, but also for public administrations, universities, and financial entities.
The Video Game Sector as a Strategic Cultural Industry
The Spanish video game market holds a leading position in the audiovisual and interactive leisure sector. Beyond its cultural value, it stands out for its cross-disciplinary nature, as its innovations in interactive 3D technology, artificial intelligence systems, and simulations open up new horizons in traditional sectors such as healthcare, training, architecture, and engineering. Furthermore, the sector is a fundamental driver for the creation of highly qualified employment, particularly among the youth demographic.
Since its first edition, the White Paper has achieved an enormous impact with over 80,000 cumulative downloads of its digital version and extensive media coverage. Its English-translated version is distributed through the European trade association EGDF, boosting internationalization and connecting national development studios with major global players.
The Presentation Event (2026 Edition)
The official presentation of the report's twelfth edition will take place as an in-person event at the ICEX auditorium in Madrid during the month of June 2026. The event will gather industry professionals and will feature the participation of prominent authorities from the Ministries of Culture, Economy, and Civil Service and Digital Transformation, alongside interventions by representatives from AC/E.
The event will include a presentation of the report's main findings and panel discussions regarding the challenges facing the digital industry and interactive content. For those interested who are unable to attend in person, the event will feature the necessary technical equipment for a live streaming broadcast.
Access to the document: The White Paper on the Spanish Video Game Development Industry 2025 will be made available to the interested public free of charge in digital format following its official presentation.
